Invited Artist: PA[e/s]SAGGI, Contemporary Art in Courtyards, Gardens and Palaces, Tirano, Italy
Material: 36 Stainless steel bowls, nuts & bolts
The work creates an impression that pieces of sky have fallen down and created small craters in the ground. Inside the shapes the top mixes with the bottom, changing our horizons. This serves as a reminder of the beauty of our environment and our place in it, places us in a historical context, perhaps even raising existential questions. Skydrops is installed as starting from a monument, reflecting the past and the present, offering a possibility
to re-discover the site and its meaning. The interactive installation allows the viewer to become part of the art, playing with light and movement. Reflecting everything from the grass to the sky, the simple act of stopping, looking, or even just walking past, distorts both the viewer and his/her perception of the surroundings.
